All Aboard

Marc Jacobs is a god. There, I said it. Because two nights ago, God debuted the Louis Vuitton Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week. After last year's merry go round (click me) I have to be honest, I didn't think it could be topped. But who was I kidding, that's exactly what MJ did. He kept with the travel wear theme of the collection and created a train station setting including a made-from-scratch steam engine. (Note to self: must learn to build trains before sending in resume).

Models deported the train and onto the runway one by one, wearing floppy hats, cigarette pants, and fur collared coats. The collection as a whole was mostly dark with navy blue, mustard, charcoal, black and the occasional hint of color - shades of purple, burgandy, and orange. Each model also showed off platforms and were followed by train attendants who carried their Louis Vuitton luggage and handbags. To say the handbag collection itself was amazing would be understatement. As always, Marc never ceases to amaze the fashion world every season.

Fuschia Fever

That's what I'm calling the recent sickness I've come down with. Fuschia Fever. What can I say, it happens to the best of us. Whether it's a chiffon blouse or dress, a blazer, or platforms, I have recently fallen in love with anything fuschia and hot pink. With spring right around the corner, I think it's the perfect way to add a major pop of color to any outfit. I love the pink blazer paired with a gray blouse and black leather shorts (Olivia, is it even possible for you to have an off day??) and SJP proves that it surprisingly works well with red. Go casual in a button up and white jeans or take it up a notch in a flowy dress for date night or girls night!

And for my skeptics who still aren't sure they can pull off the fuschia trend, there are so many ways to incorporate the color into your style that you can take baby steps! Your go-to should be hot pink nails or lips - I've recently been trying out Maybelline's version of fuschia lipstick and love it. Something I've also wanted to try for a day is the temporary version of dip dyed hair called hair chalking. It looks super easy & you can watch a tutorial here. You can even incorporate the trend at home with an artificial flower arrangement on a side table, or a lampshade. Last but not least is a hot pink clutch. I am dying for the one pictured below from Primary New York that I almost won in a giveaway. Still bitter, but I'll get over it.... eventually.

Although my lips are hot pink, it's only a temporary fix until I can get my hands on the perfect fuschia blazer, flowy dress or snakeskin clutch for spring & summer. How are you going to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe?

Under Construction

As a lover of change, I decided it was time to make a few adjustments to my blog, including the title and url. I'm sure this is totally against the rules of blogging but I believe that some rules were just made to be broken. I also wasn't crazy about the fact that everytime I went on my blog I started singing Details in the Fabric by Jason Mraz for the rest of the day, but that's beside the point.

So the new title of my blog is Kenz Lens. Just about everyone calls me Kenz for short so I'm going for the whole seeing the world through my eyes concept. And it rhymes. It's very deep, I know. This also means that I ix-nayed my old url. It is now officially http://kenzlens.blogspot.com  so bookmark it and follow it through Blogger OR Twitter and I will love you forever. Xo
