Currently Obsessing Over

Ahhhh stop with the evil eyes! I didn't purposely not blog for two months...I swear! Sorry for being dramatic, but sometimes I just like to pretend that people read my blog.

I'm going to go a little out of order here because New York Fashion Week just ended and I am currently obsessing over Christian Siriano's Spring 2012 RTW collection. OB. SESSED. While the fourth season winner of Project Runway is still working to be taken seriously I fell in love with the colors, fabrics, and styling of the entire show. Simple silhouettes, and gorgeous lime, coral, taupe, red and white in vibrant shades. He created so many wearable pieces.

Some of my personal favorites from the collection were the silk maxi skirts paired with cute, casual tees. Now prepare yourself for the runway pictures. This is fair warning. Happy Friday!

Teaser

Summer is coming to an end for me, but Miami fashion week was just last week and Mara Hoffman's Swimwear 2012 collection immediately caught my eye. So many tribal print inspired bathing suits and cover-ups that I just love love love. How badly do you want to get your hands on these swimsuits?

Sadly, we can't get them until next summer. Now I know what you're thinking, why is she showing me these super cute swimsuits when I can't even get them for another year? It's okay. In the meantime, you can try the double-braid-that-turns-into-a-fishtail-braid braid. Creative name, I know. Just part your hair down the middle and start french braids on each side, then switch to fishtail braids starting at your neck. It's bohemian chic and a perfect, easy updo for summer. Some of my favorites from the collection are the cover-ups in the first and last pictures, the black two piece, and the salmon colored one piece.

It Girls Make It Bags

Just last week, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen debuted their new handbag collection for The Row at Barneys New York. And while I am of course very in love with some of their new handbags, I unfortunately would never be able to afford any of them (they range from $2,350-$39,000) until I work for The Row and get some kind of discount...preferrably 80%. That's reasonable, right?

I love these two bags above, especially the one on the right.
And I'll take the $39,000 crocodile backpack please. Who needs a college education anyway..

What I can't get over, though, are Mary Kate And Ashley's looks at the Barneys event. Both in The Row, of course. Mary Kate wore a blue blazer that looked fabulous with her tan skin and black strappy heels. Ashley wore a colorfully beaded dress. And I'm obsessed with both. So much so that I can't even pick a favorite. These are just a few pictures from the launch party with Simon Doonan and Amanda Brooks of Barneys. I don't think they've ever looked better.

You Can't Always Get What You Want

You know that feeling when you fall in love with a pair of shoes? You don't? Well then this whole post may just be a laughing matter to you, in which case you can just scroll down to the next one. Because I fell hard for these shoes. These gorgeous, beautiful, wonderfully designed Alexander Wang Kasia Whipstitch Wedge Sandals. The oversized whipstitch, thick straps, and pattern give off a geometric style and the nude patent leather adds instant length to your legs. What more could a girl ask for?

I just want to hold them in my arms and never let go. This is one of those cases where I would spend the $550 I don't have just so they were in my possession. Luckily/unluckily for me, they are on sale for $275 and SOLDOUT. Such a tease, these wedges are. It's almost like they don't love me back.....nahhhh. For now I guess I'll just have to continue drooling from behind a computer screen.
My bank account is taking a huge sigh of relief right now.

Living Doll

Thinking back to when I was 13. Nope, can't say I had a pictorial in Marie Claire or any magazine for that matter. Sad face. But Elle Fanning has, my friends. Oh yeah and she's the Mulleavy sisters (of Rodarte) muse & went to the Met Gala as Valentino's date. Ohh to be young. The 13 year old is promoting her new film Super 8 & discussing her love for fashion in the July issue (Jennifer Aniston got the cover) and I love the entire spread. She's a little mini-Twiggy and the retro styling & hair is perfect. Dressed in all couture, Elle is a living, breathing doll. She's wearing everything from Dior to D&G, Louis Vuitton, Carolina Amato, Prada, Lanvin, and Miu Miu...just to name a few. I want to be Elle Fanning when I grow up.

A Very Unprofessional Blogpost

I am currently online shopping. And yes, by online shopping I mean actually purchasing things online. At midnight. Alone at home. And I just have one question....

Why do I have such expensive taste?

I mean really. Every beautiful thing that I see is over $400. For example. I decide I am going to get a new pair of sunglasses (still on the lookout for round lens & cat eyes). I browse through the sunglasses, some are $20, some are $70...all great prices, right? But then I lay my eyes on these babies...

These gorgeous, perfect sunglasses are Thierry Lasry Brown Lace Print Obsessy Sunglasses, and they can be your very own for around $500. Your very own. Sadly, not my very own. I decided I cannot spend two paychecks on these glasses, although it's a little embarrassing how long I really debated on getting them anyway. It's late, okay? But for those of you who are luckier than me, you need these sunglasses. I'm telling you. Neeeeeed them.

Get them here.

Back to shopping.

Resort by Rachel

Rachel Zoe has always been a huge inspiration to me. She has become one of the most successful and well known stylists in the business and has worked with huge names, styled for countless magazines & editorials, and has become a celebrity in her own right. All huge dreams of mine. So needless to say, ever since Rachel launched her brand new clothing line in January 2011 I have kept an eye on it all and I die for the Resort 2012 collection. She played with color and print and did a lot of seventies inspired silhouettes. Tailored pieces, high-waisted maxi skirts, wide leg jeans, blouses, and party dresses. It's a fun collection and one that I think everyone could find a piece that they love.

Now let's just work on finding somewhere to wear this resort collection.
I'm thinking St. Barts, you in?
I'll book our plane tickets.
