Cheers to the Weekend

Whether it's a girls' night out or just a dinner date, this outfit is perfect for the weekend. Don't get me wrong, this isn't anything crazy creative but I put this little collage together to show how some of the most simple pieces can turn into such a cute outfit when put all together. You can't go wrong with a blazer and how cute is this $85 (that's right) Freya blazer from foreverunique.co.uk? Add a cute tank from Forever 21 and some dark dark skinny jeans and you've already got an outfit started.

Take it to the next level with any kind of long multi strand necklace (this one's Kate Spade) and a funky ring (only $5!! at avalaya.com). Also that's left is to just pair with some Christian Louboutin ankle boots and the classic quilted Chanel bag....kidding, those aren't exactly simple pieces but I had to throw em in there for fun. Honestly, you could do any kind of black pump with it and as far as the Chanel bag, I just bought a really cute knock off for $27 which is pretty unbeatable at asos.com.

If you haven't been to Asos.com you are seriously missing out. The cutest London streetstyle with some extremely affordable stuff. Not to mention free shipping both ways...from London! Let me know what you think of the outfit I put together and I'll definitely be doing some more of these including some very daring outfits for the brave..

and Happy New Years Eve!

Animal Instincts

There's no question about it...leopard print is everywhere. It's a fall/winter 2010 must have and even though we didn't see it on every runway, it's taken over every area from outerwear to accessories (my favorite). There are so many ways to incorporate it into your look and here are just a few:

  • a printed tee/tank under a black blazer
  • leopard print pump with skinny jeans
  • printed scarf tucked into a fun colored jacket
  • leopard print clutch or cross body bag
The possibilities are endless but here are a few faves I picked out that are definitely doable and affordable. I'm obsessed with the shoes in this one, and just the look overall.

Of course I couldn't not include Alexa Chung, who knows exactly how to pull off the leopard print in both casual & red carpet style. I love the simplicity of the sweater paired with a sequined mini skirt.

A leopard print clutch is the perfect accessory with a LBD but I especially love it with hot pink below.

And if you're really feeling confident with the trend you'd get this insanely amazing jacket (ahem...please look at the stitching) by Balmain for the small price of $21,280. A girl can dream, can't she?

The September Issue

When I bought the September issue of Marie Claire with Mary-Kate on the cover, I instantly fell in love with the entire spread but am particularly in love with this shot. I'm obsessed with the styling, fur, tulle skirt, and who couldn't love those Sergio Rossi shoes, honestly?? I tore it out of the magazine & it sat on my desk forever. For some reason I would just stare at it thinking,
"I love this SO much..what can I do with it?!"
So since I have subscriptions to a bunch of fashion magazines and they all pile up on my coffee table after I go through them, I finally came up with the idea to take spreads, ads, and anything else that I love or that inspired me and put them on thick paper to make "chic" black borders and completely cover one wall in my bedroom in my apartment. I'm so excited I have something to do with them now and I already have a huge stack waiting to be put up. I'm gonna be constantly adding to it but I'll post a picture when I finally have a lot up!

Fur by Marc Jacobs (obsessed), Dior dress, tulle skirt from Topshop, Sergio Rossi shoes (amazing), and Stephen Webster earrings. Love it all

Runway to Red Carpet

I love Blake Lively. I love her, I love her style, and I love the fact that she's 5'10" and can rock it like no other. I recently stumbled upon this look and fell in love. I really don't know how many people could actually pull this look off -- even I think the model on the left wearing it is questionable. But if there's one thing I know for sure, Blake can. At the Chanel boutique opening party in SoHo, she looks perfect in this purple Chanel dress. I love the crazy combination of shiny sequins, horizontal stripes, and diamond pattern below the waist. It's all pulled together with her signature sex hair, flawless makeup, and of course a pair of black Louboutin mary jane pumps (which in my opinion, look much better than those paired with the dress at the Chanel show).

Hung on Chung

Alexa Chung...need I say more? You'd have to be living under a rock to not know who she is or at least heard of her. She's designed for Madewell and has been on every best-dressed list in every fashion magazine I can remember. Her casual chic style looks effortless, which let's be honest, that's what every girl is aiming for. I love these pictures because they all show off her specific style & some of her staple pieces-- ankle boots, leather jackets/blazers, and mini dresses. And let's not forget what is probably the best satchel Mulberry has ever released which could only be named "the Alexa" How amazing is that bag?! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

FINALLY!

Yay! I can't even say how long I've wanted to make a blog, and particularly a fashion blog, but now I can finally say I did it (not like it was that hard to create one). As a fashion retailing major, it would be an understatement to say I love the world of fashion. I adore it. I'm obsessed. And while most people spend laptop time on Facebook and Twitter, I spend the majority of mine looking at every fashion magazine website and blog I can find.

I have never been able to find one fashion blog where I love every single thing on it, so I decided what better way than to create my own where every post is something I love?

So for now, I'm just trying to figure this whole blog thing out-- I really want to make a cool header & background but I have no clue how so I'm gonna get on that. As for all the fashion content, I'm going to be posting things that inspire me or that I just flat out love like fashion spreads, magazine ads, pages on other blogs, celebrity red carpet looks, and anything else I get my hands on :)
